ArmInfo. Statistics in the field of agriculture bothers the head of the Armenian Government. "We need to carefully study the reasons for the decline in agriculture in Armenia in the first 8 months of 2017," Prime Minister of Armenia Karen Karapetyan stated at a meeting of the Armenian Government on September 22. Prime Minister reminded that agricultural sector is recognized by the government as one of the priority areas. At the same time, as he noted, the government focuses on identifying the great economic potential of rural communities, creating the necessary conditions and effectively implementing this potential.
Meanwhile, the statistics of the sphere in recent months give cause for concern on the basis of what, according to Karen Karapetyan, it is necessary to ensure the analysis of the calculation formed in the sphere of GDP.
Taking into account the above, the head of the Cabinet instructed the ministers of agriculture, territorial administration and development, as well as the governors of the regions and the head of the National Statistical Service, to summarize and submit to the government staff information on the indicators registered in the field of agriculture and the reasons for the decline observed.
"In the terms of August-August and January-August, compared to the same period of the previous year, growth was registered in all spheres, except for agriculture and construction," Karen Karapetyan said. At the same time, as the prime minister noted, the dynamics in the sphere of construction shows that the gap will soon be compensated by granting permits for construction work in the wintertime, as well as due to positive expectations in this direction. But in the field of agriculture the situation is different, and as the prime minister believes, it requires a clear understanding of the reason for the backlog.
