ArmInfo. The Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia instituted criminal proceedings on the facts of causing damage to the state in especially large amounts as a result of unfair or negligent treatment of officials to their duties.
The Prosecutor General's Office in particular found out that the State Committee of Cadastre and Real Estate of Armenia did not provide information on some real estate transactions between 2013 and 2017 to the RA State Revenue Committee.
According to the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office, State Committee of Cadastre and Real Estate of Armenia, presenting reports on real estate transactions for each trimester to the State Revenue Committee, did not provide information on the transactions of the last day of each trimester from 2013 to 2017.
As a result, information on 3204 real estate transactions was not reflected in the reports of the Committee and was not transferred to the State Revenue Committee of the Republic of Armenia. As a result of this circumstance, the state authority was deprived of the opportunity to properly perform the collection of taxes in accordance with the procedure established by law, and the state suffered damage on an especially large scale.
The received data were provided to the RA State Revenue Committee and were instructed to identify transactions subject to taxation. At the current stage of the study, it was established that for 5 transactions with real estate, committed by individuals and not reflected in the report of the Cadastre and Real Estate Committee, an amount of 78,198,884 AMD was not paid to the state budget without penalties. In addition, as a result of 3 transactions made by business entities and absent in the report of the Cadastre and Real Estate Committee, an amount of 1,571,800 AMD was not paid to the state budget without fines (the activity of these economic entities is suspended).
The inspections by the Committee of State Revenues of Armenia are continuing. However, given that the violations found, obviously, contain signs of a crime - negligent or dishonest attitude of officials to work, as a result that the lawful interests of the state were damaged in especially large amounts, the Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia instituted criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 315 of the RA Criminal Code.
