This was announced on February 15 in Yerevan at a briefing on the UN resolution adopted by Turkmenistan, "Strengthening the links between all modes of transport to achieve sustainable development goals," said Kazakhstan's ambassador to Armenia Timur Urazaev.

According to him, in this sense, the railway route "Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran", launched in 2013, is aimed at transporting goods from the territory of not only Kazakhstan. Urazaev noted that Kazakhstan, being a country cut off from the high seas, is trying to become a transit territory for transshipment of goods both from East to West and from North to South. "Thus, the route" Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran "has become one of the elements of the North-South transport corridor, where there are literally somewhere around 1900 km from Gorgan to the Iranian port of Bandar Abbas. This route allows, in particular, for transshipment, I say only about Kazakhstan's cargoes. The decreasing rates on railway tariffs, including the tariff policy of the CIS countries, are in effect. Low tariffs give great benefits to businessmen who ensure the connectivity of our region primarily with Central Asia with Southeast Asia, and even with Southern Europe," the diplomat said.

At the same time, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan stressed that the peculiarity of Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan in the implementation of the transport policy is the transportation of hydrocarbons. According to him, for its part, Kazakhstan also supported the participation of partners - Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, India and Pakistan in the implementation of the TAPI gas pipeline, and there are also many other projects.  "The fact is that during the presidency of Kazakhstan in the UN Security Council in January, we identified one of our priorities as drawing attention to the problems of Afghanistan and its entry into sub-regional transport corridors, in particular, if we used to use one transport route from Kazakhstan through Uzbekistan with access to Afghanistan for transshipment of goods - grain, oil products, by the way, quite large volumes of trade, but now we can take advantage of a new route that runs through Turkmenistan Istan, only with a yield of not Iran, and Afghanistan ", said Urazaev.

At the same time, the ambassador stressed that Kazakhstan, like its Turkmen counterparts, attached great importance to the comprehensive development of transport routes through the territory of Kazakhstan both in the direction of the North-South and in the direction of the West-East. He recalled that in Kazakhstan, twenty years after gaining independence, more railways were built than in all other CIS countries combined. "This shows one thing that we attach great importance to the development of transport logistics within Kazakhstan and in our region. We hope that our partners in Central Asia, including both Turkmenistan and Armenia from the South Caucasus, also for their part will develop these routes in order to ensure the coherence of our intracontinental economy and not only the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union, but also to ensure the development of the transport sector in general and related industries, "the diplomat concluded.
