ArmInfo. The nominal salary growth in Armenia abruptly slowed down from 9.7% as per of January-September 2015, to 2.2 % in January-September 2016, forming 185270 AMD ($ 485). Only in September the nominal salary level increased just for 0.1 %, against the 0.8 % growth in September 2015. In September 2016, compared to September 2015, the nominal salary growth also shortened to 1.1% in September 2015 from that of 7.2 % in September 2014.
According to preliminary data, rendered by the National Statistics Service, the salary in state-owned and municipal entities during the period of January- September 2016 formed 160688 AMD ($ 334), being reduced for 0.7%, against the 11.8 % growth taken a year earlier. Meanwhile, the salary in private sector and non-budget funded entities has retarded its run from 7.4% to 4.4%, totaling 217943 AMD ($453). And only in September the salaries of state employees grew for 0.4%, and that of non-budget waged employees - for 0.2%, while at the same month of the last year a growth of 1.7 % has been fixed in respect to those salaries, with the salaries of budget-funded employees remaining at the same level.
For comparison, the nominal salary in Armenia in January-September of 2014 grew up for 7.6% year over year and in September particularly - for 0.2%. At that, the salary of budget-fed units in September grew up for 1.1%, with the non-budget entities salaries falling for 0.8%, within the annual growth during January- September for 7.3% and 7.8% accordingly. The average exchange rate of the Armenian Dram formed 474.10 AMD for 1 USD in September 2016, and 481.03 AMD for 1 USD during January-September, in comparison to 481.07 AMD for 1USD in September 2015, and, consequently 477.71 AMD for 1USD during January-September 2015. In September 2014 the rate formed 408.80 AMD for 1 USD, and in January-September 2014 - 410.79 AMD for 1USD.
