ArmInfo. Armenia is an important country for Francophonie, especially on the eve of the Francophonie summit in 2018 in Yerevan. French Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Armenia Jean-Francois Charpentier expressed this opinion on March 23 during the opening of the economic meeting "Startups of Francophonie and Digital Innovations" held within the framework of the event "15 Days of Francophonie-2017".
The Ambassador noted that digitalization for both France and Armenia is a priority, as it is a component of cooperation projects in various fields. In the issue of creating startups, Charpentier stressed the importance of regulating the digitalization of ecosystems on the part of the state, which, he said, is used by the French government. In this regard, the Ambassador said that by the results of the past year, the turnover of start-up incubators, which in Paris amounts to 1500, has doubled. "We are aiming to turn the distribution of digital services into a driving force for social advancement", he stressed. According to him, last year France adopted a law that provides freedom of use of innovations and ensuring the availability of digitalization.
Stressing the importance of the development of Francophonie, Jean Francois Charpentier noted that the French language is the second in the world in the use of media and IT, the third in the business world, the fourth in the network, and the fifth in terms of communication. At the same time, he said that Francophonie covers a network of about 1 billion people from 84 countries, and 274 million citizens speak French.
Within the framework of the economic meeting "Startups of Francophonia and Digital Innovations", which takes place within the framework of the event "15 Days of Francophonie-2017", an exchange of views and experience of the sphere experts with start-ups is provided. At the end of the meeting, a seminar on "How to come up with an idea for a start-up" will be held for young entrepreneurs.
