Armenian banks sent 21.9 billion AMD in taxes to state treasury in  2017 first half

ArmInfo.In the first half of  the year, the banking system of Armenia sent 21.9 billion AMD to the  state treasury, which is 12.9% higher than the figure of a year ago.  Of this amount, over 89% or 19.6 billion was paid on direct taxes  (including income tax and income tax), with an annual growth of  12.6%.

According to the RA State Revenue Committee, in the first  hundred of the largest taxpayers of Armenia in the first half of  2017, out of 17 operating banks, 13 (13 out of 19 operating in the  first half of the year 2016) fell. Among them, the first five banks  of taxpayers - Ardshinbank, Ameriabank, ACBA-Credit Agricole Bank,  VTB Bank (Armenia) and Armbusinessbank, which figured in the top five  and a year earlier. In the first half of the year, the top five banks  sent 11.4 billion to the state treasury (annual growth of 12.9%), of  which 10.5 billion AMD - on direct taxes (annual growth of 12.9%).

The leader among the banks in the list of large taxpayers in terms of  the amount of taxes paid is Ardshinbank, which took 19th place  (against 27th a year earlier), which paid 2.7 billion drams, of which  2.6 billion - direct taxes. Ameriabank is on the 22nd place (against  19th a year earlier), sending to the state budget 2.3bln drams, of  which 2.2bln drams are direct taxes (including income tax and income  tax), ACBA -Credit Agricole Bank - 23rd place (against 29th a year  earlier) - 2.3bln AMD, of which 2.1bn - on direct taxes, VTB Bank  (Armenia) - 24th place (against 26th a year earlier) - 2.2 billion  drams, of which 1.9 billion drams - direct taxes. The first five  banks of large taxpayers, is closed by Armbusinessbank, which took  32nd place (against 30th a year earlier) and paid 1.8bln drams, of  which 1.6bn - on direct taxes.

In the first hundred large taxpayers also INECOBANK (38th place - 1.6  bln, out of which 1.5 bln - under direct taxes), Anelik Bank (47th  place - 1.4bln, out of which 1.1bn - under direct taxes), Unibank (  50th place - 1.3 billion drams, of which over 1 billion drams - on  direct taxes), Converse Bank (51 place - 1.3 billion drams, of which  1.2 billion - on direct taxes), Armswissbank (56th place - 1.2  billion ., Of which 1.1 billion - on direct taxes), Armeconombank  (69th place - 921 million, of which 787 million - on direct taxes),  Araratbank (71 places - 906.6 million, of which 794.7 million - for  direct taxes ) and Prometheus Bank (84 place - 834 million, of which  723.6 million - direct tax).

Only Mellat Bank got the second hundred major taxpayers of Armenia -  185th place - 348.6 million (of which 333.1 million - direct taxes).  Byblos Bank Armenia also ranked among 1000 large taxpayers of Armenia  - 412 places - 138 million drams, 102.2 million - on direct taxes),  HSBC Bank Armenia - 477th place - 116.6 million drams (63.7 million  on direct taxes) and Artsakhbank - 487 places - 113.5 million (in t  103.1 million in direct taxes).

According to the Financial Rating of Armenian Banks prepared by NA  ArmInfo, the aggregate accumulated profit of the banking system of  Armenia in the first half of 2017 totaled 142.8 billion AMD, having  decreased by 11.2% in the annual section. In the top five in terms of  accumulated profit are HSBC Bank Armenia - 28.7 billion AMD,  Ameriabank - 27.6 billion AMD, ACBA- Credit Agricole Bank - 17.6  billion, INECOBANK - 17.3 billion, Araratbank - 13.2 billion. In the  first half of 2016, the banking system completed with a balance  profit of 24.9 billion AMD (an annual growth of 48.6%), which after  taxes provided a net profit at the level of 19.2 billion with annual  growth of 2.2 times. Only for the II quarter of this year, net profit  of the banking system sank 20.1% to 8.7 billion. (The calculated  exchange rate of the dram to the dollar as of June 30, 17 was 480.47  AMD/USD1).  To note, four participants - ProCredit Bank, BTA,  Areximbank-Gazprombank Group and Armenian Development Bank, joined  the Armenian banking market in 2015-2016, respectively, with  INECOBANK, Armeconombank, Ardshinbank and Araratbank. In particular,  ProCredit Bank and BTA - in 2015, and Areximbank-Gazprombank Group  and the Armenian Development Bank - in 2016. The consolidation of the  banking sector in Armenia, including through a merger, was dictated  by the need to fulfill by 2017 a new regulatory requirement on the  minimum amount of total capital - 30 billion AMD. As a result, since  2017, there are 17 banks in Armenia.
