ArmInfo.The metallurgical industry of Armenia increased production volumes in January-April 2021 by 26.9% per annum (against a 28% decline a year earlier). This is evidenced by the data of the RA Statistical Committee.
In particular, the production of ferromolybdenum in Armenia decreased in the reporting period by 14.6% per annum - to 2.351 thousand tons, against growth by 15.5% a year earlier. In April alone, 649.3 tons of ferromolybdenum were produced, which is 7% more than in March.
In the first four months, the production of molybdenum concentrate increased by 5% per annum - up to 7,310 thousand tons, against an increase of 63.9% a year earlier. In April alone, the production of molybdenum concentrate increased by 19.9% - up to 2.403 thousand tons. Copper concentrate production increased by 5.5% to 128.4 thousand tons, against an increase of 28.6% a year earlier. On a monthly terms (for April), the volume of copper concentrate production increased by 3.4% to 33.1 thousand tons.
Zinc concentrate production decreased during the reporting period by 19.5% per annum - to 3,744 thousand tons, against 31.7% growth a year earlier. In April, the production of zinc concentrate decreased by 1.7% - to 1.012 thousand tons.
Production of aluminum foil for the reporting period decreased by 3.7% per annum, amounting to a total of 11.256 thousand tons, while a year earlier for the same period, production volumes showed an increase of 12.5%. At the same time, in April, the production of aluminum foil decreased by 7.2% to 2.6 thousand tons.
The production of steel pipes in the reporting period of 2021 increased by 41.9% per annum - to 4856.8 tons (against an increase of 31.5% a year earlier), and in April alone there was a decline of 12.1% - to 1172.8 tons.
Alloy (carbon) steel castings were produced in the reporting period in the amount of 2,888.8 tons, with a y- o-y decline of 52.6% (against an increase of 20% a year earlier), at the same time, in April production volumes decreased by 79.4%, amounting to 165.1 tons.
All metals produced in Armenia are exported, mainly to Europe and the USA.
