ArmInfo.Electricity generation in Armenia in January-February 2022 amounted to 1,678.9 million kWh, which is 21.9% higher than a year ago (against a decline of 5.8% a year earlier). However, in February alone, a decline of 10.3% was recorded - to 793.7 million kWh. This is evidenced by the data of the RA Statistical Committee.
In particular, during the reporting period, TPPs increased electricity generation by 44.8% - up to 830.7 million kWh. The Armenian NPP increased electricity production by 7.3% - up to 608.1 million kWh. At the same time, HPPs reduced the volume of electricity produced by 4.4% - to 217.8 million kWh
Wind farms produced 0.8 million kWh of electricity during the reporting period, 2-fold exceeding the figure of a year ago.
The volume of energy production from solar power plants increased sharply -2.7-fold on y-o-y to 21.5 million kWh. It should be noted that for the reporting period there are no data on the production of thermal energy, while a year earlier it was produced 9.7 thousand gigajoules, with a y-o-y decline of 2%.
