Armenian service sector generated revenue of $1.2 billion in first  two months

ArmInfo.Service sector of Armenia provided revenue in the amount of 473.1 billion drams in Jan-Feb 2024 ($1.2 billion), slowing down in y-o-y growth from 23.5% to 5.2%. This is evidenced by data from the RA Statistical Committee, according to which in February alone, the service sector showed a decline of 0.3% - to 236.2 billion drams ($584.2 million).

ArmInfo.The State Dong of Armenia by February 2021 coped over the mark of $ 8 billion, an increase in the annual cut by 10%, and only in January - by 1%.   According to preliminary data of the Ministry of Finance of the  Republic of Armenia, published by the Stat Committee, the external  debt somewhat slowed down the annual growth - from 5.5% to 5.1%,  amounting to $ 6.1 billion, and internal debt, on the contrary,  accelerated growth from 14.3% to 23%, reaching $ 1.96 Billion, but  only in January, the growth of these indicators was meager - 0.2% and  2.1%, respectively, while a year earlier in January, the decline in  external debt by 0.6% was accompanied by an increase in internal by  3.6%.

According to the Statistical Committee of  the Republic of Armenia, consumer prices in Yerevan in February 2021  increased by 0.5%, against a decline of 0.1% in February 2020.

The budget deficit of  Armenia in January-December 2020 amounted to 333.9 billion drams ($  639 million), having jumped 5.2 times on an annualized basis, against  a 39.3% decline in 2019 and a 60.5% decline in 2018. According to the  RA Statistical Committee, the budget revenues of Armenia slowed down  the annual growth from 16.3% to stagnant 0.1%, while the growth of  expenditures accelerated from 12.2% to 16.7%, amounting to 1.560  trillion, respectively. and 1.894 trillion. drams ($ 2.99 billion and  $ 3.6 billion, respectively).

In Armenia, the service sector in 2020 reduced volumes by 14.7%, against 15% growth a year earlier, amounting to 1.7 trillion drams ($ 3.5 billion).   According to the RA Statistical Committee, a negative trend was  recorded in all service segments except for the finance, as well as  information and communication. A similar trend is due to the  coronavirus pandemic, the outbreak of which in Armenia in March 2020  led to restrictions on a number of economic activities that were in  effect until September of last year.
