ArmInfo. According to estimates by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), to increase energy independence, Armenia needs a new nuclear power plant with a capacity of 600 MW. Abgar Budaghyan, head of USAID Armenia's energy security project, expressed such an opinion on April 26 during public discussions on "Prospects of diversification of the energy sector in Armenia".

ContourGlobal Hydro Cascade investments for 2023-2025 will total $16.7 million

Electricity generation in Armenia began to decline

ArmInfo. Electricity generation in Armenia began to decline, changing the y-o-y dynamics from 13.1% growth to 3.1% decline in Jan-May 2023, amounting to 3,630.3 million kWh. And in May alone, electricity generation decreased by 5.1%, amounting to 590.9 million kWh. This is evidenced by the data of the RA Statistical Committee.
