ArmInfo. Armenian Ministry of  Transport, Communications and IT is intended to provide IT sector   20%  growth in 2017. This was stated by Boris Demirkhanyan, the  Deputy Minister of of Transport, Communications and IT, answering the  question of ArmInfo reporter on the margins of  Francophone Startups  and Digital Innovations Economic Meeting held within the framework of  Francophone 15 days of 2017. " This is a very good indicator," he  mentioned.  In this respect the Deputy Minister stated also that this  year  the Ministry plans to create new jobs, which will be not many.  But until the year of 2025, according to Demirkhanyan, the Ministry  plans to increase the number of jobs in three times - up to 25-30  thousand. According to Deputy Minister, newly established companies  will be international. 

Answering the question of ArmInfo regarding French-Armenian  cooperation in the field of IT, Demirkhanyan answered: " I do not  possess any information regarding active connections of our countries  in the sector of information technologies. But I thing we are at the  start of this path. Historically, in the field of ITY we have been  always oriented to America, but the integration of European  experience will play its essential role in the development of this  sector particularly and  of economy in general." Folowing  Demirkhanyan, Armenia today faces obstacles in the IT sector, which  are similar to those in other francophone countries. Among the key  problems the Deputy Minister mentioned the lack of foreign  investments, accentuating at the need of resources ion the sector and  the necessity of trust  increase to vendorsBut the main problem,  according to Demirkhanyan, is the lack of IT solutions implementation  in the country's economy Eveluating  Armenian startups, the Deputy  Minister mentioned the following: " The main thing we face today is  the transmission  from startup to startup acceleration and  acceleration exit. As soon as this chain will be completed ( and we  do work on this now), we will be able to say that the sector is  formed." To note, the startup exchange  is assumed by the     Francophone Startups and Digital Innovations Economic Meeting held  within the framework of Francophone 15 days of 2017. Foreign Minister  Edward Nalbandian represented Armenia at the event. The summit was  preceded by a Foreign Ministers Council sitting, as a result of which  Armenia was granted a full Francophonie membership. As Foreign  Minister Nalbandian stated at the summit, as Francophonie member,  Armenia will be able to further strengthen ties with other members of  the Organization. "Armenia, along with other Francophonie members,  will contribute to strengthening of the Organization's role on  international scene," Nalbandian said.
